Transport
Metro, bus and tram cover the whole city. 24h pass costs €5. From airport to center is 30 min by metro (line E, €2.60). Taxis and Uber available. Much of the city is walkable.
Climate
Porto has Atlantic climate: hot dry summers (Jun-Sep, 25-30°C), mild springs and autumns, mild but rainy winters (Nov-Mar). Best time: May-June and September-October — fewer tourists, great weather.
Currency & Payments
Euro (€). Cards accepted everywhere. ATMs abundant. Tip: avoid currency exchange booths at the airport — use the ATM instead.
Language
Portuguese. Porto residents usually speak English (especially young people and tourism sector). Spanish also works well. One word in Portuguese opens many doors: 'Obrigado/a' (thank you).
